My third class with the advanced group.

Hello dear classmates I want to share with you that I feel really happy because this was my last class with this group. At the beginning I was kind of nervous because this time I was in charge to begin with the new lesson plan.  As always, I started the class with the warm up activity. First, I divided the class in three groups and then I provided them a page with quotes from famous people. I asked them to read it carefully. After they finished to read it, I took back the page and explained them that I was going to say the name of a famous then they had to tell me or guess what that person had said according to the page I had gave them previously.
The second activity was a reading from the book.  First, I asked them to work in trios and discuss some questions about it. After that some of them share their opinion. Then we continued with the reading, but because of my continuous problems with the time I just asked them some questions and later I started explaining the grammar structure.
During the grammar explanation I have to admit that I made some mistakes because I was so nervous when I was explaining it, but thanks God I realized it and in the moment I told them to be careful with those kind of things because it was something easy to forget or to get confused as in my case.

My second class with the advanced group

Even though it was not a perfect class, I have to say that I enjoyed a lot this second class. First, I started the class with the warm up “The Yes/No game”.  Before to start the activity, I gave the students some cards, and explained that they had to go around the classroom and ask trick questions to their classmates in order they got confused and answered with yes or no. If they answered with those words they had to give them back one card. At the end I had planned to give a prize to the student with more cards, but to my surprise there was a tie and so that I asked their classmates to decide who the winner was. In the other hand, the student with less or no cards had a penalty.
After that, I pasted on the board the headline: GENERATION GAP and asked students brainstorm ideas about it. This specific moment was kind of difficult because even though it was not necessary to give me concrete ideas, they did not want to participate for they had no idea about the meaning of the second word so I had to bring the first idea and then asked again for their participation. Later, they had to read in pairs an article about Generation gaps and bring me a new definition.
The third activity was a discussion. I pasted some questions around the classroom, asked them to stand up in trios and choose one of them to discuss it. The first idea was that every group was going to pass for each question and discuss it, but because of the time then I decided that every trio was going to discuss only one question and then share their opinion with the whole class.
To finish, I gave every student a topic and then I told them that they had a few minutes to prepare an impromptu speech. I did not have too much time to develop the activity with the whole class so I only choose some of them to pass at the front.
