My third Class...

I want to share with you that my last class with advanced II was not my best class.  I faced too many problems since the moment the teacher told me I was going to teach the grammar part. In the previous classes I had only developed the practices and some other things, but this time it would be totally different. I had to start with the unit and introduce the grammar part.  I did not know about the grammar part I had to teach them so I studied the information the teacher provided to me. Well, what I really want to tell you is that I was really nervous because of the grammar part that I made a lot of mistakes since the beginning of the class. I managed the topic because I had studied it, but my fear was how I was going to explain them if they had doubts at the end. As a student I can understand a topic, but my problem is that I do not know how to explain it to others. During this last class I have to say that I stepped back in the process because I could not face my fears. I let them win, but I also learned something really important from the teacher. He told me that when we are at the front of the class we are the experts there because in that moment the students do not know about the topic yet. We are the one who are going to provide them with the information so we have to feel confident about the things we are doing and saying in front of them.

  1. hello Mayrita! You know that there is always something positive to learn, and, in this case, you realized that is not that easy transmiting what you know to your students. For the next time, you know you will have to look for a method or strategy that allows you to explain and communicate your ideas about a certain topic, taking into account the way you're students learn. Remember that we are still in the process. We are gaining experience. Also take into account that mistakes are proof that we are trying. Keep on trying!

  2. Hello Mayra!!...I don't think you stepped back on the contrary, this experience allow you to see how far have you gone in your practice. It is difficult, I know, because we are afraid of not being understood by the students, but now that you had this try you know the things you need to change in order for you to feel confortable with your development.
It is another opportunity, you should see it that way!!!..
