My second teaching experience...

I have to say that this class was better than the last one. I really enjoyed giving my second class because even though I had to introduce a new topic I was confident about the things I had prepared for the class. As always I started the class with a warm up activity. In my case I like to work with activities that involve students moving, working together, thinking fast, etc., in order to make the class dynamic since the very beginning, but as the last time I had problems because not all the students were in the classroom early. During the warm up they had to work as a group in order to form some sentences. The goal was to form the sentence as fast as possible and paste it on the board. The first group in getting the sentence had a point so at the end the group with more points was the winner. I could say that they really enjoyed the warm up activity.

Later, I started with the presentation of the unit. I had to introduce the frequency adverbs so I started by giving them a short explanation and some examples about them.  When I finished explaining the topic I got a little nervous because I asked them if they had understood and I did not receive an answer so I thought they had not understood and I decided to explain it again. During the feedback the teacher advised me to use another method in order to know if students had understood because I lost too much time explaining again the topic. One example she gave me was to ask some specific questions about the topic to some of them in order to make a short review by themselves and to know if they are paying attention to what I am explaining them. Then I asked them to give me their own examples using the two ways which I had explained them previously. The results were really good because most of them did it in the right way.
